Away I go!

It was a long journey. 4hours by plane...not too bad. The bus ride however was rather difficult. Darkness as far as the eye can see. Every so often you could see speckles of lights from houses. It is amazing to me that people live out here. I think I have been in the city too long. Iceland has vast open spaces. It is a far cry from the buildings, trees and people of Boston. When we arrived at the house Oliver, one of the other artists, made some dinner which I was so thankful for. I slept like a rock and awoke this morning just in time for sunrise. The sun never gets high in the sky, it just kind of moves sideways, so the light is always perfect for photos. The mountains are beautiful and there are sheep everywhere. I bought some Icelandic wool to stay warm, though it really hasn't been to cold. It is supposed to snow tomorrow but today was perfect! Skagastrond is right on the ocean and behind it there is a mountain so there is great great view in any direction.
